The panel doors at Hotel Randers
are interior doors that convey history.
Hotel Randers has interior doors that meet functional requirements and convey a long history.
Hotel Randers was built in 1856 and is one of Denmark’s first provincial hotels. The hotel’s charming, historic setting had to be rebuilt in 2015 after the building caught fire. For the renovation work, Vahle manufactured interior doors for the many rooms in the hotel’s classic style.
The room wings have been rebuilt in keeping with the hotel’s charming historical style,
with new panel doors that are carefully matched to the architectural style.
All doors have the same design,
both as single and double doors.
The lockbox in the door to the hallway
is equipped with an electronic card reader.
Doors without threshold and drop seal strip,
an aesthetic solution with maximum comfort.
Panel doors are designed to meet the most stringent requirements within
fire and acoustic functionality.
The doors from the hallway are designed as fire and smoke doors,
for extra fire protection.
The hotel’s style is meticulous down to the smallest detail,
with carefully considered and selected materials.
All new doors are hand-painted with visible brushstrokes
which enhances the experience of the historical spirit.
Brass handle and knob
completes the style.
The architect wanted brass hinges,
which elevates the level and style of the whole experience.
Detailed requirements for the panel doors help preserve the original, charming style of Hotel Randers.
Interior doors are upgraded
The interior doors are made to the customer’s specifications. Therefore, they are upgraded in accordance with fire protection and sound reduction requirements.
The panel doors were designed by architects Baumann Arkitekter, who chose one continuous door model for the more than 200 doors in the hotel.
Interior doors in white that function as fire and sound doors.
The interior doors have a classic look that fits the style and spirit of the hotel.
The panel doors at Hotel d’Angleterre are functional and visually emphasize the elegance of the hotel.
Brass door hinges highlight the spirit of the hotel
The architect decided that the door hinges should be made of brass. This way, the style of the doors matches the hotel’s interior and spirit. The hinges take the doors to a new level in terms of style, which was characteristic of the time when the hotel was built, says Sales Manager Bo Vejen.
Door dimensions were corrected to standard size
In an old building, not all door dimensions are always adapted to a standard. Therefore, the door dimensions were adjusted to a standard size during the reconstruction of the burnt rooms. Many of the other doors in the building had to be adapted to unique measurements from the hotel’s construction in the mid-1800s.
All panel doors are painted by hand
To preserve the hotel’s history and classic style, all the panel doors are painted by hand. When you can see the craftsmanship and brushstrokes, you can get a sense of how the hotel originally looked. There is a new door hiding under the old look, says Bo Vejen.
