Svinkløv Badehotel has been resurrected after a fire in which the entire original main building burned to the ground. The hotel has been rebuilt with respect for the old hotel, the original atmosphere and old craftsmanship traditions, but at the same time the hotel has been brought into a new era.
“Inside, the aim is to recreate the unique atmosphere that the hotel was previously known for” (Real Dania).

Vahle has supplied some of the interior doors for the new hotel. The doors are produced in the style of the original doors and upgraded to modern fire requirements. In this way, the old style is preserved and at the same time adapted to today’s building requirements.
All the new Vahle doors are produced as panel doors with real wood panels and profiled edges that closely match the original style of the hotel. The doors are delivered primed and then hand-painted on site by Brovst Malerfirma. A detail that is both aesthetically pleasing and practical. By hand-painting you can recreate the authentic experience of an original panel door. In addition, hotel doors are exposed and will get scratched over time, so when they need to be repaired, it can be done much nicer when they are hand painted.
Doors with mild sound reduction support the original spirit
“The acoustic doors are chosen with a mild sound reduction. They wanted to preserve a bit of the old spirit of Svinkløv, where you could hear what was happening on the other side of the door,” says Sales Manager Bo Vejen.
That way, it’s through the small details that the unique atmosphere of the place is created. In a modern hotel, acoustic doors would typically be chosen, but here they have been deliberately left out so that the hotel does not become soundproof.
Longevity is the key to sustainability
Sustainability has been key in the rebuilding of the seaside hotel. Historically, wooden buildings with wooden joints have a proven lifespan of at least 250 years (Real Dania). A key word in this perspective is longevity. Therefore, high quality requirements have also been set for all suppliers. Every Vahle door is created based on the exact same sustainability principle – longevity based on high quality materials and craftsmanship.
It is therefore with pride that we present our doors in a new building where they have managed to recreate an atmosphere that is historically almost universal, based on the deepest respect for both tradition and innovation.
