Wooden doors for Mejlborg Basement
Custom-made wooden doors made from Dinesen Douglas wood planks.
The exclusive Mejlborg Basement, located in a beautiful, historic building in the center of Aarhus, described as one of the most important landmarks in the city, today serves as a showroom for Dinesen and Garde Hvalsøe. In the renovated lower floor, they have chosen to use Vahle doors.
Among other things, Vahle has supplied Dinesen FRAMED by Vahle wooden doors to Mejlborg Basement. The FRAMED wooden door is built from long, solid Douglas planks from Dinesen.
When you enter the showroom, you’ll be greeted by natural materials shaped by skilled carpenters, and you’ll be inspired to create a home where high-quality design and well-being are paramount.
Vahle doors are designed with surfaces to match the other interior elements in the building.
Dinesen FRAMED by Vahle in solid Douglas
is fully integrated with the same planks as the wall.
This door is made according to our on-wall opening principle,
where the frame is on the outside of the wall.
The door and frame form a beautiful whole,
and is allowed to step into the room.
Sliding door with micro-cement surface
is designed to mirror the concrete floors.
Dinesen Douglas on doors and floors
creates coherence in the space.
The doors are made from Dinesen Douglas wood from German and French forests.
The incredibly tall trees provide a fantastic grain structure and give the door a unique look.
Dinesen FRAMED by Vahle door
disappears completely into the wall.
The weight and elegance of the door opens up to a very special experience space,
where you can close the door and enjoy a beautiful experience from the forests where the wood originates.
Interior wooden doors as design objects in the interior.
One of the Dinesen FRAMED BY Vahle doors is on the outside of the wall, as the door hole was too narrow for a traditional installation. This way, the door draws attention to itself and the beautiful and vibrant texture of the wood gets full attention.
The other Dinesen FRAMED by Vahle interior doors are set into a full wall of Douglas to create a simple and calm surface.
Dinesen wooden planks of the highest quality
The doors are made from Dinesen Douglas wood from German and French forests. The trees grow incredibly tall and the grain structure of the wood gives the door a special look.

Custom-made wooden doors with surfaces to make you experience the space
The stairs down to Mejlborg Basement are made of Douglas. Doors in the same wood species create a synergy between the materials. The same architectural approach is taken with the sliding door, which has a 2mm micro-cement surface that mirrors the concrete floor.
