Entrance doors Silkeborg Town Hall
Panel doors to match the architecture
The Old Town Hall in Silkeborg was built in 1857. It’s a beautiful old building that has now been renovated with deep respect for the original architecture.
Vahle has delivered new entrance doors for the building. The entrance doors are made as panel doors that match the architecture, with the necessary fire certification added.
The new entrance doors thus meet all requirements from both the Danish Agency for Culture and the fire authorities.
Entrance doors are built as fire doors
with sound acoustic properties.
The large double doors open beautifully to the hallway,
and even if they are fire doors, it doesn’t show.
The beautiful new double doors
blend beautifully and harmoniously with the historic architecture.
It has been important that the fire door function
does not work against the aesthetic expression.
The design of the entrance doors is determined in collaboration with the client,
so that the expression supports the feel of the building.
The original architecture of the staircase
has been preserved without compromising on functionality.
All entrance doors are made with two lockboxes
and all hardware is made of brass.
The entrance doors are made as white double and single doors and serve as fire doors.
Entrance doors to the Old Town Hall in Silkeborg
The Old Town Hall in Silkeborg was built in 1857. After many years as a courthouse, jail and mayor’s office, the town hall was renovated in 2012. It was important that the building retained the original look of the interior doors. However, all new doors were required to be made as panel doors with fire certification. The doors match the style of the building and meet all requirements from the Danish Agency for Culture and the fire authorities.
