A stately staircase in a condominium association’s beautiful old property has undergone a thorough renovation.
The doors have been replaced with new fire doors that have the exact same design as the original apartment doors. The entrance to the apartments is a distinctive part of the staircase, where the original panels have been preserved and the new doors have been fitted into them.
Comfort and heritage come together in the best way possible. The fire requirements are met, and the doors are also designed as acoustic doors to prevent odor and noise nuisance. You can feel it, but you can’t see it, because the doors have been recreated with exactly the same look as the originals.

Comfort was the most important thing
“The old doors were leaky, and this caused a lot of noise from the staircase”, says the chairman of the condo association, and continues “it was therefore the most important thing for us to rectify this with the new doors, while also meeting the fire and energy requirements”.
Doors with the original design
The panels were taken down and reinstalled on a fireproof wall where the doors were fitted.
“We wanted to preserve the original paneling on the walls, and the doors, like the original ones, had to fit in perfectly with their profile and lines,” explains the chairman of the condo association.
Happy residents enjoy the new doors
There was previously a lot of noise from the hallway with old leaky doors and doors with slamming locks. But that’s history now.
“All residents in the building are very happy with the increased comfort that the replacement of the doors has provided,” says a happy chairman of the condominium association.
